Tenants moving out of a property will often ring around for the cheapest quote when vacating a rental property or even choose to hire a carpet cleaning machine and try and do it themselves.

Here are some reasons why this is not the best way to go.

1. A reputable carpet cleaner will usually provide a risk free service guarantee so that if for some reason, the job has not been completed satisfactorily or the property manager finds that it is not cleaned properly, they will normally offer to re clean free of charge or even offer the service charge back.

2. A reputable carpet cleaner will be industry trained and certified to clean in accordance with Australian Standards AS/NZS-3733/2018. So even if the service may seem more expensive than the cheapest provider, the reason is usually that the technician will be much more experienced to clean all types of carpets and not likely to damage your carpets.

3. Quite often, a tenant may decide to try and attempt to clean carpets themselves. Usually leads to a poorly finished job and may even permanently damage the carpets with incorrect use of chemicals or overwetting the carpets leading to mould and odour issues. Most of these cases will result in having to get it re cleaned by a carpet cleaner which at the end will have cost you more in money and effort than if you had hired a reputable carpet cleaner in the first place.

In many lease agreements, the real estate agent will recommend a service provider that you can use. Taking this option is usually the best option as normally, they are recommended because they do a quality job and the real estate agent has experience with their quality of work.
